What are the characteristics and advantages of organic glass?
The characteristics and advantages of Plexiglass
First, the characteristics of Plexiglass:
1, the visual effect of Plexiglass: a variety of colors, strong visual impact;
2, the beauty of plexiglass: mirror effect, exquisite technology, no folds, no seams;
3. Light transmittance of plexiglass: light transmittance can reach 96%, light transmittance is excellent, light is soft;
4. Impact resistance of plexiglass: more than 200 times that of ordinary glass products, almost without any risk of fracture;
5, the flame resistance of plexiglass: there will be no spontaneous combustion and self-extinguishing;
6, the durability of plexiglass: the product has a good protection of the built-in light source, prolong the service life of the light source product;
7, Plexiglass energy saving: light transmission is very good, relatively reduce the light source, save electricity, reduce the cost of use;
8, the rationality of plexiglass: reasonable design and waterproof, open structure, easy to clean and maintain;
9. Weather resistance of plexiglass: it can be guaranteed for a long time without fading, and the service life of the good quality plate is as long as 6-13 years.
Two, the advantages of Plexiglass:
1. High transparency. Plexiglass is the most excellent polymer transparent material, transmittance of 92%, higher than glass transmittance. The solar lamp, called the artificial small sun, is made of quartz, because quartz can fully pass through ultraviolet light, while ordinary glass can only pass through 0.6% of ultraviolet light, but Plexiglas can pass through 73%.
2, high mechanical strength. The relative molecular weight of Plexiglass is about 2 million. It is a long-chain polymer compound, and the chain forming the molecule is very soft. Therefore, the strength of Plexiglass is relatively high, and its tensile and impact resistance is 7-18 times higher than that of ordinary glass. One kind of perspex is heated and stretched, in which the molecular segments are arranged in a very orderly way, resulting in a significant increase in the toughness of the material. A nail is driven into the plexiglass, so that even if the nail penetrates, there is no crack in the plexiglass. The plexiglass will not break to pieces after being penetrated by a bullet. As a result, stretched-treated Plexiglas can be used as bulletproof glass and also as hatch covers on military aircraft.
3, light weight. The density of Plexiglass is 1.18g/cm3, and the weight of the same size material is only half that of ordinary glass and 43% that of aluminum (a light metal).
4, easy to process. Plexiglas can not only be cut by lathes and drilled by drill presses, but can also be bonded into various shapes with acetone and chloroform, as well as blown plastic and other plastic molding methods to be processed into everything from airplane cabin covers to small dentures and dentures.
